BODY WRAP

After several months of highly stressed male's lifestyle, the state of the physical body can be summed up in one word - toxic.

Herbal Wrap is a classic detoxifying spa treatment to keep the body healthy all year long. In this treatment, the body is cocooned in warm layers of herbal-soaked muslin sheets. The body core temperature will be raised giving the 'fever' effect, whereby the body reacts by throwing off, through sweat, whatever toxins are attacking the system. The herbs used are chosen for their detoxifying properties, and they aid in the 'fever' effect: some draw through the skin, others quicken circulation, others calm the nerves, and others stimulate elimination through the kidneys. An Herbal Wrap expertly administered brings an instant sense of lightness and pleasure.

Seaweed Wrap is another form of body wrap with tremendous benefits. More than eight hundred types of seaweed can be found in the world. Dozens of them are eaten by many cultures, but only seven or eight are used for cosmetic and healing purposes. Of these few, kelp is the most popular, with white and brown algae close behind.

Our blood is similar to the seawater. The molecules are nearly the same, and in fact when there is a shortage of plasma during wartime, seawater is often substituted. The secret to sea treatments is in this similarity.

During a Seaweed Wrap our bodies soak in vast store of nutrients and minerals found in seawater and plants right through the skin, as if we were receiving a transfusion! Seaweed treatments are good for all skin types, especially for dry and sun-damaged skin. The primary benefit of this treatment is Remineralization as an auxiliary means of replenishing the body with the minerals and vitamins as the crops today are grown from depleted soil, air and water.

Another therapeutic body wrap is the Mud or Clay Wrap. Volcanic mud called fango has long been used in the early century in Northern Italy to treat arthritis and rheumatism. Mud fall into three categories:

Fango Volcanic mud

Moor Muds from inland spa lakes

Clay From mineral-rich areas, usually high in bentonite

Muds as they dry have powerful drawing properties, pulling impurities from the system. The bentonite in some clays is an especially powerful drawing agent. Mud wrap can be applied full body or on any specific part of the body. This is effective in treating muscle strain caused by minor sports injury or pain arising from repetitive stress syndrome.
